THE ULTIMATE PERSUADERS featuring RICHARD POINDEXTER "HYPNOTIZED"
Richard Poindexter sings lead vocal on this classic song that he and his brother Bobby Poindexter penned for the late, great Linda Jones on George Kerr's New Jersey based Loma Records.
This track was also included on the 2006 CD "MADE TO BE LOVED" on It's Soul Time! Records and was released as a limited edition 45.
Since this clip was recorded, Evan Wills has since replaced Alex Brown who sadly passed away in 2007 and in Septermber 2008, the group changed its name from The Persuaders to The Ultimate Persuaders featuring Richard Poindexter.
We hope you enjoy this soulful gem!

D. MAWL RELEASES "THE GREAT ELECTION", A PRO OBAMA TRACK AND VIDEO, TO COMMEMORATE THIS HISTORICAL MOMENT IN U.S. HISTORY

The Hip Hop Soul Artist Drops Political Rhymes Over Two of Today's Most Popular Hip Hop and R &B Songs and Creates a Must See Complementing Video
D. Mawl releases song

Louisville, KY - October 27, 2008 -
D. Mawl can be added to the ranks of many artists who have used their talents in support of Illinois Senator Barack Obama. With hip hop and urban communities on fire about the current election, it was only natural for the Louisville lyricist to contribute to this evolutionary time. The urban youth have registered to vote in record numbers this year and those who influence them most, have been critical encouragers of their participation. "I am so excited about the energy of our hip hop generation and very proud of the attention and time they are placing on this election. I am a strong Barack Obama supporter and want to see this brother prove his doubters wrong," says D. Mawl. He is hopeful that this song and video will create more spark in this last week before the big election day and motivate some to vote early. Listen and download the mp3 of "The Great Election" by clicking HERE. View the must see YouTube video HERE.

In addition to "The Great Election", D. Mawl is busy promoting his single "Keep It Hip Hop" from his The Lost 16 album. He is nationally recognized for his "All Over the Place" Black history anthem and as KFC's 2007 360 Pride Hitmaker.

To hear some of D. Mawl's music, please visit
www.dmawl.com or www.myspace.com/dmawldro. Music is readily available for fans, DJs, radio stations and other outlets.

For media inquiries and interviews, please contact Keisha Pickett at keisha@pickettpr.com or (813) 903-9247.

Hip-Hop Soul Artist Niva Releases Debut Single, "I Will Make It" Featuring Kamal Supreme

Niva

Niva and Kamal Supreme

New York, NY (BlackNews.com) - There is a new movement in the world of urban music. A movement to operate outside of the framework of the major label record companies. That movement is thriving and flourishing with urban independent artists in all parts of the country. Many artists are taking advantage of social networking web sites as well as Yahoo and Google pay per clicks and public access television to promote their music.

Niva is one such artist. Her debut track "I Will Make It" is a powerful anthem-like song with a strong hip-hop beat and a dream-like folk guitar. With its inspirational and motivational lyrics, the song serves as a testament to self love and determination. The strong hook drives home the point to not rely on yourself but rely on a higher power.

Niva is not the average pretty face that can't sing and needs electronic autotune and Pitch correction to perform and record. Niva is for real and she proves it every time she steps on stage. Niva constantly and continuously performs at various clubs in the New York/New Jersey area where she receives rave reviews for her singing and her powerful stage performance. Niva's delivery of classic Soul and R&B in a modern day Urban Hip-Hop package has prompted many to call her "The New Soul Diva."

Now residing in New York City, Niva originally from Houston, Texas is blazing a path as a recording artist and performer. "I Will Make It" is a collaborative effort with Spoken Word Poet 'Kamal Supreme'. Kamal is known for his musical message of empowerment for women. The two artists were brought together by New Black Music in an effort to create something different, interesting and meaningful. Spoken Word can be a provocative and prolific art form. Combining that art form with a singer of Niva's soul and power can definitely make you sit up and take notice.

The new track reflects Niva's pain and suffering growing up in Houston and her determination to break the cycle of pain and depression. When asked about her inspiration for the song Niva responded, "I had to go to a very dark place to write and sing those lyrics." While Niva is inspired by Beyonce and Mary J. Blige, she is also a big fan of classic Soul and R&B music. One of the first projects she worked on with New Black Music was for a television show called "The Urban Mix." Niva sang two classic soul tracks with a live band. The songs were Michael Henderson's "Be My Girl" and the Delfonics' "Baby I Miss You." The band of seasoned Bebop, Soul and R&B musicians were so impressed that they became Niva's personal backing band. She also performed on several other local television appearances doing songs by 'Candi Staton' and other classic Soul and R&B greats as well as her own powerful Hip-Hop Soul.

Niva left Houston with nothing and came to New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a star. The story of all of her trials and tribulations and struggle after arriving in New York City is fit for a Hollywood movie. According to Niva, "No one knows how hard I have worked to get where I am now." Through all of the struggle and adversity she experienced she held on to her dreams and perfected her craft. She responded to an ad put in Craigslist by New Black Music for a female artist. According to Brother Jonathan of New Black Music, "From day one I knew this girl had potential and I knew she was someone who really had something to say."

Niva has a connection with all of the ladies who go through anguish and hardship and struggle to overcome and live the life they were meant to live. She is equally at home doing a hot and sexy dance track or pouring her heart out and putting her emotions on the table. While making the video for her debut song, it was clear to everyone present that Niva just loves being in front of the camera and sees it as fun, not work. "I Will Make It" is destined to become a huge success. Keep your eye on Niva, a rising star.

[HustleUniversity] WE GOT YOUR BACK OBAMA!

10/28/08

Peace and welcome to all the newcomers of Hustle University!

Before I start ranting about Hustle U happenings, I’ve got to send a special prayer out to Jennifer Husdon and family.

I also have to send a prayer of protection for our brother Barack Obama. He’s really gonna beat Mccain and he’s got some people so afraid of his power that they are plotting to take him down (or out).

This (my people) is the unfortunate nature of leadership and success. The higher you climb, the harder people try to pull you down. That’s why Hustler’s Commandment #4 is: “It’s lonely at the Top.”

As I said before Obama, “I got your back!”

The book signings in Brooklyn this weekend went very well! Shout out to Carmen @ http://carmenmcolon.net for setting up the tour, interviews and optimizing my website. My site ranking has jumped up over 2 million spots! INCREDIBLE! Ya'll need to holla at her.

The Hustler’s 10 Commandments has now sold over 10,000 copies! Hustle While You Work will soon follow. You can now order both at Borders (but they’re cheaper online). www.HustleUniversity.org

Nu-Soul bridges the gap between the world of R&B/soul and the underground vibes of electronica, the common factor being a grounding in funk, soul and urban lifestyle. This is a place where the sounds of neo-soul, drum and bass, deep house and breakbeat are a part of the same family. Through fascinating articles, engaging interviews, and the latest reviews, Nu-Soul hopes to open minds to the incredible array of soul influenced music available today.

Vote For Obama & A Weirdo- PRESS RELEASE

Vote For Obama & A Weirdo

    Peter Hadar
'Well Dressed For The Art Show'
Available On iTunes & Everywhere November 4th
New distribution deal with INgrooves; second single 'Planets', New Video Coming Soon

hadarvote On Tuesday November 4th, two monumental events will take place in the United States. We will elect a new president, and independent singer/songwriter Peter Hadar will release his sophomore album "Well Dressed For The Art Show" on iTunes and everywhere; both representing a change in the status quo. Produced under Hadar's own imprint Cool Weirdo Music, the album was originally released to the press in June, and has since garnered critical acclaim by the likes of Essence.com, who deemed it "an eclectic sonic masterpiece", and VIBE's Hype Magazine who called it "a healthy alternative to mainstream".

The quality of the album also attracted digital distributor INgrooves, who has since picked it up and is issuing the November release. INgrooves also distributes projects from Cool Kids, Thievery Corporation, Too Short, J Dilla, and Dolly Parton.

Peter Hadar's music has been best described as a mix between Jaheim and Kanye; a fusion of R&B, rock, and electronica. First single 'Painted', is already in heavy rotation on dozens of international on and offline radio stations and mixtapes. Meanwhile, Hadar's keen fashion sense and unique vision continue to overlap and advance his career. The latest example of which, is infectious second single 'Planets' attracting the ear of a surprise "Angel" who stars in the soon to be released video, that was directed by Chike and Coodie who also directed Kanye's debut 'Through The Wire' and Mos Def's 'Body Rock'.

The last quarter has been busy for Hadar; he hit the road opening for artists including Grammy nominee Raheem DeVaughn, Estelle, J*Davey, Mickey Factz, and the Cool Kidz on stages across the country. Peter Hadar was also a featured artist on both MySpace Music and BET-Listen Up; his music has enjoyed a warm reception on taste-maker blogs and websites including Billboard and SOHH.

Hadar is currently in the studio working on his much anticipated third album, two tours in '09, and a new marketing extension of his 'Cool Weirdo' brand called The Honors Program. He's also wrapping up another release with his new DrumNBass group '2 Seconds From Being Committed'; a meeting of the minds with his production partner Mike Genato's and James Ronaghan's band 'Mathematics'. Refusing to be boxed in, Peter Hadar is creating the music that feels good to him, hoping that we get it. If not, he says he's "gonna keep rockin".

When asked about presidential hopeful Barack Obama Hadar states, "As a black singer, I want people to listen to my music and like it for what it is, not having preconceived expectations or limitations. I believe Barack Obama wants the same. To be elected because of what he stands for, and to not have his color sway us for or against. I support his formula for the future, and I want the world to support mine."

Vote for a Change on November 4th. Cast your ballot for Barak Obama, and buy your copy of Peter Hadar's
'Well Dressed For The Art Show'.

    SEPSENAHKI
    SENSUAL SOUL

    ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

Recently proclaimed "THE SENSUAL SOUL SIREN OF THE SOUTH!" SEPSENAHKI breezes onto ATLANTA'S soul music scene, by way of DALLAS TEXAS, by way of OKLAHOMA CITY. This captivating songstress, mesmerizes you before she even opens her mouth to hit the mic. The magnetism in her music draws you in and vitalizes you as soon as the melody begins. Sepsenahki's (pronounced sep-sin-aw-key) vocals, sweet yet intense, are incredibly infectious and you can hear it in the understated sensually charged "Let It Go", from the poignant "Searchin'", to the downright- full on sexy "Come To Bed". As a singer/songwriter, she has travelled down a road of self examination & self discovery in music, through her church roots and has blissfully grown into and embraced the beauty of her true being by becoming "Free at Last". Sepsenahki has many musical influences but "love, loves afrobeat rhythms", which you'll be able to hear in her anticipated & upcoming CD "Galvinization of The Goddess", which reflects a collective consciousness. Well, if you're unconsciousness now, you're sure to wake up & be rebirthed into the beautiful world of SEPSENAHKi...Undeniably bringing sexy back!

    - Vol 1, Issue 1
    In This Issue
    Friendly Links
    Friends and Fam

CMJ kicked off yesterday and I am so on a buzz- natural of course....I'm in my element....Love socializing, love making introductions, turning people on to cool music, hot trends and hooking up artists with opportunities to continue what they love- pursue their dreams and play for hundreds of people- fans/industry.. In fact-- I love to help aspiring artists and young folks in the business who are trying to move up..... This is why I'm on this earth---- This is why I'm here and it's extremely gratifying and very rewarding...

I'm just coming home from my 5th party tonight so yes-- a little buzzed and in overdrive, 5th gear but it's coming from my heart...I couldn't imagine anything else and this is what I've surrounded myself in and immersed myself with my entire life!!! Yep-- I was a musician from 4 years old till early 20's....Live it, Breathe it, Am it!!!

On that note--- Met the rest of Dirty Fuzz yesterday- they're lovely! Had a brief discussion on New Zealand Hip Hop....Yes- there's a scene and it's happening...Heard of Savage?

Global Hip Hop, French Hip Hop is exciting!!! Almost interviewed on NY1.... The Blog New Media cocktail party at Sutra was a success...Big ups DJ O of the Beatards and Sarah White...Dope!

Thanks to Dirty Fuzz I had the sickest carrot cake ever.... Oh- our full page ad on the Global Hip Hop showcase in the CMJ Guide Rocks! Thanks Scion!!!

And- I reached a milestone....Over 1100 people traveled to my website yesterday-- yep- that's uniques!!!

Bigging this up again as I've known King Britt's work for years now and we've developed a strong relationship - So when he launched his Digital Music Store a couple days ago and asked if I would help him spread the word- I was very excited.

King is a visionary, multi-talented and sharp businessman. Five Six Media has consistently released great music -always at the forefront and cutting edge.

So it's no surprise that his Digital Music Store is up and running... In fact- there was such an overwhelming response the day it went live- that his server shut down due to a crazy amount of traffic that obviously they weren't ready for!!!

Well now over the increase of band-width and some maintenance - Five Six Media is back on track!!!

Five Six Media is an example of the new music revolution. They are a music label, store and production house owned by artist andproducer King Britt. They have many of the top artists in the world lending a hand in the movement. Ursula Rucker, Power Douglas, King Britt Presents Sylk 130, ObaFunke and many more to come.

The store is exclusive to music on their label. Offering A La Carte Purchasing as well as subscription service. All MP3s of the highest quality. Flac and .wav files available for special releases. With the subscription service, you will get any and all mp3s that are put up in the year, member's only exclusive content and you will save an amazing amount of money. From now until January, They are offering an introductory $35 yearly fee. After January it will go up significantly. So get your membership now. Also, they feature packages for djs/producers, who buy loops and sounds for programs such as Logic, Reason and Ableton. These sounds will be designed by the FiveSixMedia team and specially commissioned artists. Five Six Media Digital Store.
If you're not subscribing or reading me daily- there's something wrong...No seriously-- This blog is entertaining, informational, light, and easy read and flavorful. It's original content for the most part plus- I have awesome contributors!! They're all brilliantly talented artists......May I say anymore!!!

Plus - another reason to see what's up with my blog-- it's been picked up by a great blog network called MOG Bloom Blog on MOG-- Couldn't be a more perfect marriage.

Oh check out my insight and wisdom on Papa Lo Down....I totally dig that site and it's part of my peeps-- Ill-Literacy!! Got to support them!

Ethiopian born singer/songwriter Wayna who now lives in D.C has a beautiful collection of prolific songs on her latest release- her sophomore release 'Higher Ground'.

Off the album 'My Love' was written for the women of Prince George's county- victims of domestic violence. Prince George's county - the wealthiest black county in the country has the highest rate of domestic violence. Wayna wrote this song in honor of them and has offered it as a free download on Soultracks this month as part of Domestic Violence Awarenes.

Speaking of 'My Love'- it is #2 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop singles chart and #18 on the Hot 100....This is incredible for an indie artist--- big ups Wayna....

She's embarked on a 5 week FYE Retail tour up and down the region selling, signing and performing... She'll be in NY for a promotional tour performing at an ONUTSS event- November 12th and at Tillman's Lounge on Monday, November 17th.

The video for 'My Love' is finished and will be released end of month....We'll have video screenings in D.C, Atlanta, LA and NY....Look out!

Oh.....This just in.... The pre-ballots for the Grammy's just came in and Wayna made the list....Best New Artist and Best R&B among other categories!!! What a feat.....

I finally met the rest of Dirty Fuzz.....Very cool, Very Dirty!! Can't wait to hear them Rock Out TONIGHT!!!! Elida totally exudes Rock Star-- in fact everywhere we went last night- people stared, came over and asked who she was....Yes she's exuding alright....

She loves the camera- she's great super charismatic and the rest of her bandmates- handsome blokes and quite charming..... Did I tell you I can't wait to see it live!!!

Elida's on the 'Independent Success Stories' panel today at the Kimmel Center.. Then later we're off to the British Cocktail private shindig and then Annex where Dirty Fuzz hits the stage around 9PM....

Thursday - you can catch round II of Dirty Fuzz as they play the OURSTAGE Showcase- Ace of Clubs- 11PM.... Yes- we love OURSTAGE.....Yes- every band should be signed up!

Thursday night they're doing The OURSTAGE showcase- Ace of Clubs-- currently you can download their 'True History of Rock N Roll OURSTAGE

Dirty Fuzz will be around the whole week making appearances, doing interviews and mingling with the finest........How Dirty will they get???? They may even rock out w/ Maya Azucena at the Blue Note on Friday late night!!!
Thursday night is hot-- First off- for Hip Hop- there's a Meet N Greet- the annual produced by BRMG, Foundation Media and Spectre Music- It's happening at Santos Party House....Great line up of DJ's and always a great hang to network, wheel and deal and get your music heard....

5PM-9PM Santos Party House Jake One, DJ Protege, DJ Revolution and Babu getting wreck on the 1 and 2's....

After the Hip Hop Meet N Greet- what better way to continue-- come over to DROM... This is the only International Hip Hop night at CMJ....Yep- you heard it correct.....and it's hosted by the one and only Pharoahe Monch.....Ya heard!

Shouts to Scion and all the fabulous sponsors to numerous to name here but they're shouted out on the flyers/posters/release.... CMJ registered folks-- check us out-- we have a full page ad in the program guide--- yep- that's true too!!!

So with all that said-- Myself and Ben Herson (Nomadic Wax) have worked night and day to bring you this amazing night.... Blitz The Ambassador, DJ Soulscape, VJ Kwon, Too Many Fish, King Reign, Chachi, Empire Isis and Mr. Reo..... DJ's BOO and EMCH on the wheels.

Dramedy: Short Stories of Urban Chronicles Vol 1

New Author Sheila Chadwick Writes Unique Collection of Short Stories. Indianapolis, IN October 22, 2008 -- PublishAmerica is proud to present Dramedy: Short Stories of Urban Chronicles: Volume I by Sheila Chadwick. First time author Sheila Chadwick releases the masterfully written collection of short stories chronicling the lives of individuals who make choices that turns their lives as well as the people around them upside down. The characters live complicated yet exciting lives of bright ideas and antics that take the reader on an exhilarating journey of secrets, kidnapping, snitching, stalking and infidelity. “Although a fictional novel, the characters reflect real-life situations that are occurring for many people every day and I wanted to find a somewhat comedic way to dealing with situations that tend to be serious and full of drama. Dramedy is such a labor of love for me and it’s wonderful to see my dream of this book come to fruition.” Around 2004, Sheila began to summarize the entertainment news and forward onto her family and friends by way of a weekly emails. The response was great and It was because of this venture that she came to contribute her journalistic talents to other sources such as Crystal Magazine, Mahogany Magazine and liner notes for the Midnight Soul compilation released on the Right Stuff Records label; a division of Capital Records. It was her contributions to other publications that prompted Sheila to evaluate her goals in life as she realized how important living out her dreams was so she decided to start her own magazine which she affectionately called Word On The Street. Word On The Street the magazine was introduced in the fall of 2004 and quickly grew in popularity. In 2005, Sheila was profiled on Lifetime TV in their celebration of "Real Women, Real Lives” and in 2006, she was named “Diva Soul Sista of the month” by DivaSoulSista.com. Over time, Sheila interviewed more than 30 singers, rappers and musicians and in 2007 after her final interview featuring Chaka Khan, she retired Word On The Street to take her writing to a different level, finish her Graduate Degree and focus on writing Dramedy. “I never expected Dramedy to happen as fast as it did. Once I set my mind to making it happen, it seems that GOD just blessed me by lining everything up. GOD created the path and Publish America created the means and I look forward to following up with volume 2.” Dramedy: Short Stories of Urban Chronicles Vol 1 is published under the Publish America imprint; a traditional publishing company whose primary goal is to encourage and promote the works of new, previously undiscovered writers. Dramedy: Short Stories of Urban Chronicles Vol 1. is available at Amazon.com as well as on the author website Sheilachadwick.com where you can view the phenomenal trailer for the book. - smchadwic@gmail.com

"Keep It Hip Hop" Added to Mixshows and Radio Rotations

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

"KEEP IT HIP HOP" AND OTHER D. MAWL TRACKS GAINING GLOBAL POPULARITY; SINGLE IS ADDED TO LOUISVILLE'S TOP URBAN STATION B96.5 FM

    D. Mawl's Profanity-Free Hip Hop Soul Music Has Been Added To Mixshows and Radio Rotations in Louisville, Dallas, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Tampa and London
Louisville, KY - October 8, 2008 - D. Mawl is making moves throughout the country and is targeting international recognition as well. The Cincinnati native's music is developing a fan base of popular DJs, radio host and music critics. DJs in various areas have been requesting tracks from D. Mawl to add to their mixshows and rotations on-air, as well as, parties, clubs and other social settings. In addition, he has been interviewed by various outlets, with more requests forthcoming. As an active member of social networking sites like Soul Commune, Myspace, Imeem, StreetCred, and XXL Block, D. Mawl is aiming to increase his fan base and introduce his music to those across the globe.

While D. Mawl's musical style isn't what's regularly played on radio, it is appreciated by those within the industry. There are some stations that love hip hop, but don't regularly spin it because of the content. "Hip hop lovers who once abandoned the art form because of junk lyrics can now embrace the music again. We are hip hop heads, but not able to include a lot of it in our rotation because of lyrics. We are thankful for D. Mawl's platform," says Chris Birch of Vertical Fix Radio. As a husband and father of three young children, he wants his family to be heavily involved in his musical dream of bringing the true essence of hip hop back to the mainstream. Therefore, D. Mawl aims to make music with good messages and eliminates the use of vulgar language.

    D. Mawl and the Soul LinQ camp are continuously looking for opportunities to share his music via radio, internet, interviews and performances.

    About Soul LinQ Productions:
