On Monday the 13th September students from BSIX college in Hackney will perform at The Vortex as the finale to a series of music workshops held by BrazenBunch. Details below...

As a finale of a series of workshops held by BrazenBunch at The Vortex as part of The Vortex Outdoors project, music students from BSIX 6th form college in Hackney showcase their work. The workshops have given the students an opportunity to work with some highly-acclaimed professionals including Zena Edwards and Ayanna Witter-Johnson.
Four of the professionals who were part of the workshop course are also contributing to the final performance. There will be a unique collaborative mix of original music and interpretations from all those involved.
BSIX Music Students
3 graduates from earlier this year join students from who have only just embarked on the music course to showcase their individual talents and what they have learned throughout the 6 week course.
Leon Michener
A pianist whose extraordinary control of the instrument is backed up by a rigorous understanding of 20th century piano music. Michener pairs a penetrating performance interspersed with fascinating improvisations with references to iconic jazz heroes.

Jonathan Geyevu
A highly acclaimed young pianist whose band Sojourner features some truly gifted emerging musicians. Jonathan's distinctly melodic, sensitive and spacious playing can also be heard on other artists work as this talented young player becomes more and more in demand. Phillip Harper
Leader of Lifeforce Muzic and the Lifeforce Band, Phillip is an accommplished percusionist. Lifeforce Muzic was set up to promote high quality events.

BrazenBunch is a London-based non-profit organisation working with Musicians, Artists and Filmmakers to provide events and projects that benefit both local and global communities. Community Work
As detailed above we have provided music and performance workshops for students from BSIX 6th Form College.
We also ran a series of music workshops for Crisis - a charity dedicated to the relief of poverty and distress among single homeless people - as part of their Summer School.
